New York New York

NEW YORK, NEW YORK
Going to New York?
What fun you are going to have!
We were there for 5 days and it wasn’t enough to do everything so we had to prioritize. Highlights were the sailboat trip which we took from Chelsea Pier. It is very relaxing and you get good views of the Manhattan Skyline plus the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
We stayed on 54th and 6th which was ideal for MOMA, Central Park, Fifth Avenue, and St Patrick’s Cathedral.
We also took the Grayline Bus Tour which was great fun and afforded loads of ‘Kodak Moments’. It also gave us a better idea of the places we wanted to re visit and spend more time in. It’s a hop on/hop off open top bus tour and drops you off at the usual sights, Macy’s World Trade Centre (that’s a MUST!), Times Square, Greenwich Village and many more. (Loved Greenwich Village). Top of the Rock for the fabulous views, everyone warned us about the potential queues but again we were lucky as we went straight in.
If you want to see a Broadway Show go to the Ticket Booth in Times Square and you should pick up a great deal. We went at 19:20 on the last night; no queues like there are in the afternoon, and we picked up tickets for Phantom of the Opera at 70% reduction.
Hopefully I haven’t missed anything but there are loads of other things which we didn’t have time for.
Warning! Don’t take the cycle rickshaws. We did (too many cocktails!) and we were ripped off as he charged us way too much. It is a known fact so use yellow cabs if you need to. We found them affordable and plentiful!
Enjoy the Big Apple – we did!
